DUSK
A downloadable modular TTRPG
You are a Shard
Equipped with the latest suntech, you are tasked with venturing out into the Dusk, and helping bring a new dawn to humanity. The Dusk does not want you there.
Good luck.
DUSK
DUSK is a rules-lite TTRPG set in the NOVAverse, the setting of the NOVA TTRPG and its related games.
In it, you play as Shards, survivors on the planet Obron after the devastating nova-event that saw your world destroyed. Now you wield powerful technology fueled by pieces of your dead sun, in hopes of surviving another day.
DUSK uses the LUMEN 2.0 system, and is a diceless RPG focused on resource management rather than luck or chance.
The game is designed to be quick to learn, with modularity in mind. Beyond the core rules, the rulebook includes 4 optional rules modules that you can mix and match to create the version of DUSK that's best for your table.
Want to learn more? In this video I give you an overview of the setting and a quick explanation of the rules!
Modular RPG
DUSK is a modular TTRPG, meaning you can choose to add as many of the optional rules modules to your version of the game as you'd like. More modules will be released over time, allowing you to fine tune and create the perfect experience for your table.
Your purchase of the game gets you access to the core rules and any rules modules that are released in the futr
DUSK currently is released with four rules modules within the core rulebook:
- Scars: New character creation options, giving your Shards new abilities based on the horrors they've faced.
- Tech: Take on dangerous feats to gather data on the factions and create a new line of suntech inspired by your enemies.
- Base: Build up your home base across multiple missions, earning new rewards for your Shards.
- Train: Adds a new rule for using Skills to specialize your Shard and help relieve some of that pressure on your Approaches.
I am actively developing a number of additional modules:
- Map: Large-scale module that uses a large world map and sets your Dusk campaign in the canonical city of Helios. Includes mission generation rules, a world map, and faction rules.
- Foes: Deeper dive into the various enemy factions in the Dusk, example enemies, and new rules for the Boss enemy type.

So, in combat, are players supposed to be using up Approaches when using weapons? If so, how do players get them back after say, wave 2 of a larger battle?, or is the expectation that they may well all be exhausted? Or is there an equivalent to Energy regaining in Nova that I’m missing?
The players don't need to spend anything to use a weapon, it just deals Harm automatically.
If they want to do something very specific with the weapon, like hitting a bullseye target, they might need to spend an Approach.
The default is not spending anything.
How are you planning to price the future volumes? Will they be added to this or made seperate?
They will be made as separate purchases.
EDIT: Since this post I've decided to simplify things and release the future Volumes as just included with your original $5 purchase of this edition of the game!
I really like this premise and am looking forward to future volumes - is there any news on volumes 2 - 4 or is this on a bit of a back burner?
Working on volumes 2 and 3 currently!
Fabulous news! Really excited to hear it and looking forward to seeing what you come up with! :)
Is this more of a setting for NOVA or more of a brand new system?
This is a new system set in the NOVA universe.
Beautiful game! Have you considered tokens to keep track of resources? Maybe a "shard" like shape?
In Obron, the same world of Rune!
That's right!
